10e Chambre, Délits Flagrants, Faits Divers
Pack of three films by Raymond Depardon dedicated to Justice.
10e chambre - Instants d'audience (2004) (The 10th District Court:
Moments of Trials)
The proceedings of a Paris courtroom are the grist for this documentary.
Drawn from over 200 appearances before the same female judge, the director
chooses a dozen or so varied misdemeanor and civil hearings to highlight
the subtle details of human behavior. In the process he draws attention
to issues of guilt, innocence, policing and race in France.
Délits flagrants (1994) (Caught in the Acts)
This documentary shows a few moments of the life of 14 real persons
who have been caught red-handed by the police : mainly their meeting
with the deputy public prosecutor (he/she can decide to send them right
away or later to the court) but also with a lawyer. A snapshot of two
systems : justice and criminalty in today's France.
Faits divers (1983) (News Items)
This documentary follows the daily life of a section of the police station
of the fifth "arrondissement" (district) of Paris.
