Built between 1919 and 1924 by French architect Georges Wybo, the Grands Moulins de Paris (the "Big Mills of Paris") are located in the 13th arrondissement, along the Seine, a few meters away from the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (the French Library), in the newly built area of the city named Paris Rive Gauche.
Closed down since the end of 1996, after 5 years of works and renovation by architect Rudy Ricciotti, the Grands Moulins de Paris should reopen in October 2006 and host the university Paris-VII Denis-Diderot.
