Les Bienveillantes is the astonishing first novel in French language by
Jonathan Littell which won the Goncourt prize and the French Academy's
Great Prize of the Novel in 2006.
In the late 1980's, Maximilien Aue, the manager of a lace
factory in Northern France - a quiet French-German man is about
40 years earlier he was a disciplined SS officer, in charge of checking
the procedures and supervising the "elimination" operations taking
place on the Eastern Front.
Through an autobiographical enquiry of a kind, he's going to track
